Predictive Modeling – CART

First, we will have a look at the Grandaddy of Predictive Modeling, CART. The solution provided by CART is easy to understand and share with others: a decision tree. But like Clark Kent, underneath that simple, milk-toast exterior, beats the heart of a superhero. CART is flexible in fitting complex relationships, and robust in that it makes very few assumptions about the model or data. Second, we will have storytime as we share some principles of data collection that apply pretty much everywhere, and we will see that often we do things in exactly the wrong way.

Please attend for a lively discussion.
